A  Museum  Quality  Antique  Casino!

This "casino" was named  "The High Rollers Monte Carlo Collection" by Mayor Ralph G. James,Sr.  Mayor James served 12 consecutive years as Mayor of Wildwood, N.J.  from 1956 till 1968.  This seaside resort is at the Southern tip of New Jersey and had 8,000 year round residents.  It swelled to a population of 250,000 during the summer season.  "The Mayor" was affectionately known as "The Best Mayor Wildwood Ever Had!"  The citizens were greatly disappointed when he  elected to retire after serving 3 terms.  His political career spanned over decades.  He was a loyal and faithful supporter of the DNC while at the same time he served as district Chairman for the Eastern Division of the GOP.   Mayor James was a "gentleman" from a by gone era that shall never be replaced in history.  He was a fabulous dresser.  He was often called "Dapper Dan" because he was  always in a three piece suit with a silk tie, pocket scarf, gold pocket watch, top hat and a brass eagle - head walking cane.  He always looked like he just stepped out of "Esquire Magazine."  When he expired in 1994 he was buried in his tuxedo.  He was born in Lewistown, Penna. in 1911.  A granite memorial in his honor is at the Cold Spring Cemetery in Cape May, New Jersey a street and a building, James Plaza, is named after him in Wildwood.

What an honor to have something that was once his and played such an important part in the history of gaming in the United States.

Former District Attorney, Jim Garrison, from New Orleans stated the tables were part of The Beach Club Col. E.R. Bradley owned in Palm Beach, Florida.   It operated from 1898 until 1945.   When it closed, Joseph P. Kennedy, (father of President Kennedy and winter resident on the island), was quoted as saying "Palm Beach has lost its zipperoo." This exclusive restaurant and private gambling casino made him enormously wealthy and he expanded operations to New Orleans.

Col. Bradley had several business interests in New Orleans including ownership of the Fair Grounds Race Track. The "Colonel E.R. Bradley Handicap" is named in his memory and is raced annually in January at the Fair Grounds Race Course.  He also had 4 Kentucky Derby winners.  He testified before a United States Senate committee in April of 1934.  He identified himself as a "speculator raiser of race horses and gambler."  He made the cover of Time Magazine on May 7,1934 and in the year 2000, the Florida Department of State honored him as one of their Great Floridians.

While many of the gaming tables and "one arm bandits" were smashed with axes and tossed into the Mississippi River, this entire collection was spared from destruction.  It was crated and stored in the New Orleans warehouse district and was protected from any future demise.

In 1987  Mayor James  purchased an estate just outside of New Orleans.  Due to his friendship with Jim Garrison, former District Attorney of Orleans Parish, Mayor James was made aware of the tables. He purchased "The High Rollers Monte Carlo Collection"  and had it on display at his estate known as the  Bella Rose Mansion.  The Mayor  entertained quests from all around the world for charity fund raising events on these magnificent tables.
