Matching Roulette Table and Black Jack Table for sale

(see photos below)

Both of these tables were used at E.R. Bradley's Casino and restaurant at his Beach Club Resort in Palm Beach, FL which operated from 1898 - 1945.  The Beach Club at one point had the distinction of being "The Most Exclusive Casino in the World" with the Most Expensive Restaurant in the World."  Carved from Cuban mahogany, both the Roulette table and Black Jack table have hand carved bear claw feet.

THE BEACH CLUB

Bradley's club was renowned for its cusine, but that wasn't the draw.  The white clapboard building on Royal Poinciana Way attracted tycoons who thought nothing of plunking down hundreds of thousands of dollars at the tables.  It was a private club with a cadre of security guards.  The Beach Club's menu of spinning wheels and tumbling dice made it the resorts most rapturous attraction in between tea dances, cake walks and wheelchair rides.  The Vanderbilt's, Gould's, Belmont's and Astor's were held spellbound by the sights and sounds within Bradley's gaming rooms (if you decide to purchase these tables you can say).

More about E.R. Bradley

He was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.  At the age o fourteen, Bradley was working as a roller in a steel mill before heading to Texas in 1874 to work on a ranch.  During the Wild West era he worked as a cowboy, a scout for General Nelson A. Mills during the Indian War campaigns and was a friend of Wyatt Earp.

Later Bradley became a freight supplier to the railroads and silver mines of the American Southwest.  He went on to operate gambling rooms that provided the basis for the start of his fortune.  In fact he became so successful  as a gambler he eventually established a bookmaking partnership with his brother John "Jack" Bradley that served horse racing bettors at race tracks in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Memphis, Tennessee and in St. Louis, Missouri.

By 1891 Bradley had accumulated considerable wealth and moved to St. Augustine, FL.  He worked in real estate and opened the Bacchus Club with his brotherJack where they sharpened their skills and parleyed their winnings into an organized gambling conglomerate throughout the Southwest and Mideast.

E.R. Bradley was once called "the greatest gambler who ever lived."  He was also heavily involved in horse racing and was the first 4-time winner of the Kentucky Derby.  He also won 2 Preakness's and 2 Belmont Stakes races.

Bradley was so famous that on May 7, 1934 he ended up on the cover of Time Magazine in a story entitled "I'd Gamble on Anything."  His media interest included owning the Palm Beach Post, Post-Times and Palm Beach Daily News.  Bradley and his wife had no children and donated money to many orphanges.  He also paid to have St. Edwards Catholic Church in Palm Beach built.   In the year 2000 the Florida Department of State honored hin as one of their Great Floridians.
